Five Ways to Help Our UWP Alumni in Need This Holiday Season

Life has been rough for many of our alumni. Between being hit hard with the COVID-19 pandemic and now with inflation, many of you have asked what you can do to help.

Here are 5 ways you can help our alumni in need:

1. Check-in on your cast mates and tell other alumni about Reach Out

Check-in with your cast mates.(The holidays are a perfect reason to call!)

If disaster strikes anywhere near any of your castmates or alumni friends, make contact with them and make sure they are ok.
If they need assistance, let them know Reach Out can help. 

2. Join our Reach Out Care Network

Whether it is providing hot meal, a conversation, or a ride to a medical appointment, our worldwide local Care Network alumni have signed up to be available and ready if we get alumni in need in their area.

Local alumni are matched up with alumni in need in several ways. One match is through geographical location, and how close you are to the alumni in need. Another match may be by your specialty, if you are a life coach, nurse, healthcare or disability specialist. We are always looking for more alumni in the helping professions.

3. Make a contribution to help support alumni

Reach Out is funded 100% by UWP alumni for UWP alumni!

Make a tax-deductible contribution to our Reach Out Empty Stocking Fund today, before Decemebr 31. Your contributions have an immediate impact to help alumni in emergent situations get back on their feet. Even the little bits help! Thank you for supporting alumni and Reach Out!

4. Join our Reach Out Facebook Group

One of the fastest ways to hear about our alumni in need is to follow the Reach Out Facebook Page at http://www.facebook.com/groups/ReachOutROAAN. Currently 6% of all alumni are part of this page. Help us grow our Facebook Page by inviting your castmates and alumni friends to join the Reach Out Facebook Page.

5. Use our Reach Out Amazon Smile link for your online holiday purchases

Use our link, www.roaan.org/amazonsmile.htm, when making your Amazon holiday purchases and AmazonSmile will donate a portion of your purchases to Reach Out Alumni Assistance Network to help our alumni in need.

Reach Out keeps all applications in strictest confidence.
Your privacy is important to us.  When alumni in need apply to Reach Out, they tell us with whom (if anyone) they let us know which permission we aree allowed to discuss their circumstances, and which pieces of information we have permission to disclose. 

Reach Out gives both financial and non-financial aid to alumni in need. We help connect alumni in need with relevant 3rd party services. These resource lists helps maximize the available assistance for the applicant.
